  • Count to Japanese from 1 to 10.

  • Greet each other in Japanese.

  • Have knowledge of naturally spoken Japanese in context (Karate drills) and physically demonstrate poses.

Description

In this lesson, students will continue to practice everyday Japanese greetings with an understanding of politeness levels, learn to count from 1-10, and apply their understanding of Japanese pronunciation in contextual settings.
In the second part of the lesson, students will try to mimic karate poses and count in Japanese from 1-8 with rhythm and movement.
The lesson will conclude with a virtual field trip to Japan.

Sequence

  1. Meet and greet students.

  2. Review greetings.

  3. Practice bowing.

  4. Intro numbers via Google Slides.

  5. Watch Naruto video 1-10.

  6. Practice counting: group to individual.

  7. Introduce karate video.

  8. Explain shortened pronunciation.

  9. Practice with video.

  10. Take a virtual field trip to Japan.
